Overview:

 

As you prepare for your collie puppy to go home with you, here is some detailed information on the dog food that we use for your pup. I highly recommend keeping your pup on this food, as we have seen huge improvements to our dogs' health since using it. 

 

I will be sending some of the Life's Abundance Puppy Food with you when you get your pup, but I recommend that you order a bag before your pup goes to your home. This way, you can be sure that you will have it available. I will also be sending other samples with you.

 

The Life's Abundance food is very reasonably priced when compared with similar dog foods in quality. As it is so nutrient dense, you do not need to feed your dog as much as other brands. They also have much less waste and it is drier and less smelly than when I had my dogs eating other brands. My adult dogs eat about 2 -2.5 cups a day, depending on weather (we get very cold temps here).

Why Life's Abundance?:

 

One of the main questions we receive is why Life's Abundance? We have tried different brands of food and we have found this to be the best food for our dogs. They stay healthy, coats are shiny, and they have way less waste because it is so nutrient dense. After you create an account, your food and products are shipped directly to your door.

Your puppy has been raised since weaning on Life’s Abundance Large Breed Puppy Food and its mother was fed Life's Abundance Food throughout her entire pregnancy. We highly recommend continuing this food for your puppy, as we believe it gives them a longer lifespan and keeps them healthier.

 

Ordering and Feeding Instructions:

 

We recommend continuing the Large Breed Puppy Food until close to a year of age. At that point, slowly transition to the All Life Stage Dry Dog Food. We also highly recommend Life’s Abundance training treats (great for the training process), buffalo sticks (great for teething), wellness supplements (vitamins), and dental treats (cleans the teeth). I will be giving you samples of all of these items when you get your pup.

 

Everything made by Life’s Abundance is made with your pet in mind- to keep our pets as healthy as possible. They also carry products for cats.

 

When you order, you will create an account. After that, your information is stored for future use, making future ordering quick and simple. When I order, my shipments usually arrive within two days, a little longer if the order is made over the weekend or during a holiday.                                                      

If you put yourself on autoship, you get a discount and you can change your autoship at any time. Since they charge the same for shipping, no matter the size of bag, we recommend starting with the largest size bag (which for Large Breed Puppy Food would be the 35.3 lb bag). That way you can keep track of how fast your puppy is going through it and change the autoship if necessary. When you are on autoship, they will email you at least a week or two before your upcoming shipment to remind you of your next order, so you do not need to worry about an unexpected shipment arriving at your door. At that point, you can decide whether you need the shipment or if you want to extend the time till

your next order.

 

As pups grow faster at different stages, it is hard to say exactly how much they will go through in a period of time, but you can adjust your autoship at any time. At 8 weeks, your pup will probably be eating about 2.5 cups a day - so if you order the 35.3 lb. bag, that would last him/her for about 58 days. We recommend starting with the 8 week autoship frequency.  If you are getting close to the end of that period of time, and figure you need it sooner, all you have to do is order and set your autoship for a more frequent schedule. On the flip side, if you do not need it right away, just bump up the time between your shipments.  Again, Life's Abundance will notify you at least a week before your automatic shipment is processed, in case you have forgotten about it. Therefore, you do not need to stress about unwanted shipments arriving.

 

We feed the pups twice or three times a day- morning, noon, and evening- as much as they will eat at one time. We feel their bodies are the best judge of what they need, especially if they are going through a growth spurt. We use this method, rather than trying to measure out what we think they will need. They do not need food available 24/7, so offering them food twice or three times a day is plenty.

 

Once they reach adulthood, we do measure their food, and give them 2-2.5 cups a day, depending on the size of the dog and weather. This keeps them at a healthy weight. Many dogs today are given too much food - remember, a lean dog is a healthier dog!
